Flying

On 30th March, 6 Cadets took the long journey to RAF Benson to go Air Experience Flying in the Grob Tutor, the RAF’s basic training aircraft. After ground training, we all got kitted up and joined the queue to go up. All 6 got to fly, with many doing aerobatics during their flights. The day was greatly enjoyed by all.

Region Cross Country Championship

On Sunday 31st January, 8 cadets from 129 journied to represent Kent Wing in the London & South East Region inter-wing cross country competition. Prior to the event there had been heavy rain, so the track was extremely muddy, but the cadets soldiered on through, with Kent Wing overall coming second, having come second in the junior men category,  third in the junior girls, junior boys and senior boys, and fifth in the senior girls. A very successful day for the cadets representing the squadron, and the wing!

Victorious Team 129!

Congratulations to all the cadets who took part in the Pentathlon this weekend. We had almost a third of the squadron participating which was utterly fantastic.

We achieved the perfect result:

Scratch Competition: 1st (and also the second place)
Junior Team: 1st
Senior Team: 1st
Overall: 1st

Also on Saturday evening seven of our cadets represented Kent Wing at the LASER Region Swimming Championships (six of the cadets were also participating in the Pentathlon!)

Once again another outstanding performance.

Well done to all.

Swimming to success

Well done to the Squadron Swimming Team.

Yesterday evening at the Mote Park Swimming Pool, Maidstone we became the Overall Swimming Champions for the ninth consecutive year! Outrageous!

Squadron Annual Inspection

Yesterday we had our annual inspection which offers the opportunity for family & friends to come to our squadron to see what we do, as well as a time for cadets to be rewarded for their efforts throughout the year. The Mayor of Tunbridge Wells came to inspect us on parade, before we all went to different activities to show some of the activities we do. This included things such as our flight simulators, a slideshow of pictures from the previous year, and demonstrations of drill and marching band. Finally, we had the award giving where cadets were rewarded for their outstanding efforts in different areas.                                                       Annual Inspection
